Record scale, fit and every included piece
Name the object precisely, record the exact page and option, choose measurements that match how it is worn or used, add a reliable scale reference, list every included piece, and state the packing requirement. Keep materials, coatings, water resistance, and performance as unverified claims unless a responsible source provides support.
Choose measurements that answer the use question
| Accessory | Useful measurements | Helpful context |
|---|---|---|
| Belt | Usable hole range, width, buckle dimensions | How total length was measured |
| Watch | Case width, thickness, lug/strap range | Wrist range and clasp type |
| Jewelry | Chain length, pendant size, ring inner diameter | Unit, weight, closure |
| Glasses | Lens, bridge, temple length | Frame width and fit notes |
| Hat | Opening circumference or range, crown, brim | Adjustment method |
| Phone accessory | Exact compatible model and connector | Case-on or case-off use |
Add a scale reference without introducing a new guess
Use a ruler in the same plane as the item or dimensions from a standard object whose size is stated. Hands, tables, and lifestyle photos can distort scale. For flexible items, record whether they were laid flat, curved, stretched, or worn during measurement.
For fit-sensitive products, a range and measurement method are more useful than “one size.”
Inventory every piece in a set
Create one line per component, including cases, spare parts, pouches, tools, cards, cables, or replacement pieces. If colors or pack counts vary, preserve the exact combination rather than recording only the collection name.
| Component | Quantity | Option | Shown / confirmed | Unknown |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Main item | [qty] | [option] | [source/date] | [field] |
| Included part | [qty] | [option] | [source/date] | [field] |
Separate visible construction from material claims
You can neutrally record visible links, prongs, stitching, hinge style, closure shape, connector type, surface finish, and marked text. You cannot determine metal purity, coating thickness, fiber content, battery capacity, waterproof performance, or skin safety from appearance alone.
If a material or performance property is essential, ask what documentation or testing supports it and decide independently whether that evidence is adequate.
Match packing to the vulnerable part
Small items can be lost, scratched, bent, or mixed. Specify separate bags, caps, padding, or rigid support where appropriate, then confirm those materials in the packed shipment. Pause when the set count, option, compatibility, or measurement method remains unclear.
